Copyright and the Law
Copyright - the exclusive rights and protection given to an author or creator of an original work
Copy free - A type of licensing that make the distribution of a piece of work available at no charge of commercial use
Trademark - A name, symbol, word, phrase, icons, etc. that is registered by the law to represent a company or a product and legally restricted to the use of owner/manufacturer
Creative commons - Organization that collects copy-free works, and distributes it; One of several copyright licenses that allow the distribution of copyrighted works. The licenses differ by several combinations that condition the terms of distribution
Royalty free - The right to use copyrighted material or property without needing to pay license charges for each use, per volume sold, or some time period of use, or sales
GNU licensed - A free software license that promotes the distribution of free works
Public domain - Works that have no restrictions, and available or belonging to the public

Checking Your Sources
Here are a few tips for you to check whether information is hoax or not:
- Read the information twice or more
- Check to see who created it?
- When was it created?
- Why was it created?
- Are there any hidden message?
- What are their aims? Are they using omission (leaving important facts out)?
- Is the information biased?

Critical Thinking - Kony 2012
Things that are true:
- Joseph Kony is at the top of the ICC list
- Kony kidnapped kids and turn them into child soldiers/ sex slaves
- Kony is a real character
- The "Cover the Night" is real
- Jason and the group had conversations with Congressmen
Things that are untrue:
- Kony's army is 30,000 people --> can't be accurate
- All of the money will go directly to Uganda
